NEW DELHI: As the coronavirus situation in India remained grim, social media has kept us updated with all the recent Covid-related news and stories. Twitter, mainly, had come to the rescue of many who are in the need of Covid-related help.

Twitter is acting as catalysts in providing help and bringing attention to distress calls from across the country.

With this difficult Covid situation, many on Twitter have come forward to offer their services to those in need of help to find medicines, hospital beds and oxygen. Unable to get through the national and other helpline numbers, many have resorted to tweeting, urging for help.

Many Twitter users have also offered food services or groceries and other essentials. On the other hand, there are doctors who have offered online consultation which is free of cost on Twitter.

As we experience the unprecedented Covid-19, psychologists have also shared their insights and helped people for mental health awareness in Twitter.

Notably, many journalists have also helped people on Twitter to connect to the relevant departments related to the coronavirus situation.

Indian Youth Congress President Srinivas BV has also won praises for providing swift assistance to many on the microblogging portal.

India on Monday has recorded its highest-ever daily spike of over 2.73 lakh new Covid-19 cases, the Union Health Ministry said. With the 2,73,810 fresh Covid-19 cases in the country in the last 24 hours, the total tally reached 1,50,61,919. India also reported 1,619 fatalities due to the infection in the last 24 hours. With this, the Covid-19 death toll in India climbed to 1,78,769. Amid the surge in coronavirus cases, the healthcare system in the country seemed to be overburdened as reports of shortage of hospital beds, oxygen, and medicines for Covid-19 treatment.
