India gets her First Trans beauty Queen: Veena Sendre from Chhattisgarh

Veena Sendre from Chattisgarh becomes the first transgender beauty pageant winner of India as Veena becomes the 'Miss Trans Queen'.

Among other contestants, Namita Ammu of Tamil Nadu claimed the title at the national-level beauty contest which was organised in Mumbai on Sunday, 7 October.

Notably, Sendre belongs to Mandir Hasaud village in Raipur. Narrating her childhood days, Veena said how she used to feel different from others and how her friends used to avoid her. She added, "Nobody wanted to be my friend, everybody made fun of me."

Veena dropped out from her school when she was in 5th standard, but resumed her studies a few years later. She discussed herself and her life plans with her mother and had said how she wanted to do something different in her life.

Before this, Veena had participated in various ramp walks during Lucknow and Bengaluru fashion weeks. This victory of Veena on the national front will surely bring a revolution in the fashion industry and in the lives of the transgender.
