NEW DELHI:

India registered 45,951 new Covid-19 cases and 817 fatalities in the previous 24 hours, according to statistics given on Wednesday by the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry, which is fairly excellent news in a time when the country is jointly battling the deadly contagious COVID-19 disease.

This is the lowest number of Covid-induced fatalities since April 10, 2021. 

On April 10, India reported 839 COVID-19 induced fatalities. It is also the third time in over two and a half months that the Covid-19 toll has fallen below 1,000, and the 12th time in the previous two months that the toll has fallen below 2,000. 

After India passed the three-crore milestone exactly a week ago, the total caseload increased to 3,03,62,848.

After the United States, India has more than three crore instances, with one crore cases added in the previous 50 days.

It is also the 23rd day in a row that India has recorded less than one lakh new coronavirus infections. On June 29, India reported 37,566 cases, the lowest number since March 18, whereas on June 22, India reported 42,640 cases. 

The number of active cases has now fallen below 6 lakh. The country now has 5,37,064 active cases and has had 3,98,454 fatalities. 

Kerala had the highest number of Covid-19 instances, with 13,550, followed by Maharashtra with 8,085 cases, Tamil Nadu with 4,512 cases, Andhra Pradesh with 3,620 cases, and Karnataka with 3,222 cases.

According to the Union Health Ministry, 60,729 individuals were discharged in the previous 24 hours, bringing the total cases discharged patients to 2,94,27,330.

According to the Health Ministry, a total of 33,28,54,527 individuals have been vaccinated across the country, with 36,41,983 receiving vaccines in the previous 24 hours.

As of June 29, 41,01,00,044 samples had been tested for Covid-19, according to the Indian Council of Medical Research. A total of 19,60,757 of these samples were analysed on Tuesday.
