Indian Olympic Association Holds Immediate Meeting With Protesting Wrestlers
The meeting has been decided to get scheduled on Friday, at 5:45 pm in the evening.

NEW DELHI : The Indian Olympic Association (IOA), has called for an urgent meeting with the wrestlers who are protesting with a claim that women wrestlers are sexually harassed by WFI president and its coaches.
Sources revealed this on Friday. The meeting has been decided to get scheduled on Friday, at 5:45 pm in the evening. The IOA will attend the meeting virtually with the wrestlers and discuss the allegations charged by them.
Bajrang Punia, Commonwealth Games gold medalist, has requested PM Narendra Modi, Amit Shah along with Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur to hear their plea. Various wrestlers in India, including Sakshee Malikh, Bajrang Punia, Vinesh Phogat and Ravi Dahiya are joining the sit in protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi.
The ace wrestlers have claimed mismanagement of the federation. Furthermore, they have demanded a restructuring of the federation. However, WFI president, Brij Bhushan Saran has denied all allegations and asserted that he bring to light the political conspiracy behind the allegations.
Saran stated this in a press conference, held in Uttar Pradesh's Gonda on Friday. A meeting held between few wrestlers and Anurag Thakur on Thursday, continued till this morning. Meanwhile, the protesting wrestlers wrote to the President of IOA, PT Usha about the sexual harassment complaints against Brij Bhushan Saran Singh.
In the letter , they mentioned financial exploitation and irregularities by the WFI president. PT Usha after receiving information, claimed that, national Olympic body will do everything possible to maintain safety of the women athletes of the country.
The letter also mentioned that Olympian Vinesh Phogat was mentally harassed by the WFI president after she missed out on an Olympic medal in Tokyo.
