Assam Police Salute Women Cops on Women's Day 2021

International Women's day is a historic day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievement of women across the globe. This year's theme is to create a gender-equal world. This symbolic day is about celebrating a woman's success and raising awareness against bias.

Incredible Superwomen in Assam Police

On International Women's Day, Assam Police took to Twitter to salute the "incredible Superwomen" in the service. In the tweet, a video of the lady officials serving in the Assam Police about how they train to protect the people of the state.

"I came from a rural village. Growing up, I saw my brother being posted at Border Security Force (BSF) and protecting the nation. I had always wanted to protect the people. By joining this (Assam Police), I have helped the girls in my village to dream big," a woman cop said, as she held a rifle in her hand, in a video released by Assam Police on Twitter.

"Breaking the ceiling and how! This Women's Day, we honour and salute the incredible Superwomen of Assam Police, who inspire us every day. This is the story of their unflinching valour, determination and courage. Full Video: http://bit.ly/2MWcFql #WomensDay #WomensDay2021," Assam Police said on its official Twitter handle.

Earlier on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a tweet, saluted "Nari Shakti" on International Women's Day.

"Saluting our indomitable #NariShakti on International Women's Day! India takes pride in the many accomplishments of the women of our nation. It is our Government's honour to be getting the opportunity to work towards furthering women empowerment across a wide range of sectors," PM Modi tweeted

Assam Chief Minister on Assam Lady Police Officer

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal also took too Twitter to greet women on the International Women's Day.

"Women are our strength, women are our inspiration. On #InternationalWomensDay, let us acknowledge the contribution of women in shaping the society and realise the power of #NariShakti in building an Aatmanirbhar Assam," Sarbananda Sonowal tweeted.

Meanwhile, Assam Finance and Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, "Sharing some of our government's efforts to empower the women of Assam. #InternationalWomensDay".
