Dubai: Apart from eight teams in IPL team list, two new teams will also be seen playing in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 as the bidding process for the same has started on Monday at 11 am in Dubai and is now under process.

Reportedly, more than 20 companies have submitted their tenders.

At the same time, 10 parties have bidded so far of which Adani Group and Goenka Group are ahead in the race. The Glazer Family, the owner of the football club Manchester United, is also in Dubai. According to media reports, more parties have bidded for the team of Ahmedabad, Lucknow and Cuttack.

However, according to reports, the BCCI has rejected Arun Pandey's bid. He had arrived a little late to bid and missed out on bidding. He had come to bid for Rhiti Sports.

BCCI is examining the bids

According to the information, the bids made by the tendering parties will first be evaluated technically.

The BCCI is conducting a technical evaluation of the bids of all the parties. After evaluation, the parties whose applications are invalid will be excluded from the bid and the papers of other parties will be opened.

Thereafter, all eligible parties will make financial bids. The interested parties include Adani and Goenka and Kotak Group.

The winning parties in the bidding may be announced by this evening or tomorrow.

In the ongoing bidding process in Dubai, 10 parties have bidded. All the documents have been submitted and they are being checked. After this, the pamphlets of the eligible parties will be opened and the winning parties will be given the ownership of two new IPL teams.

Five to six parties will be shortlisted for the final bid. Both the new teams can be announced at the end of the day. Till IPL 2021, eight teams were playing in the league. However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) earlier this year announced the addition of two new teams from 2022. BCCI has also tweeted about the bidding process. Along with this, Pragyan Ojha, Vice Chairman of IPL Governing Council has also tweeted.

Teams will be selected from these six cities

According to media reports, it will be difficult to conclude the bidding process on Monday. However, according to the BCCI, both the new teams will be announced today. The BCCI has selected a total of six cities, out of which two new teams will be selected. The names of these cities are Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Cuttack, Guwahati, Indore and Dharamsala. Out of these, the names of Lucknow and Ahmedabad are at the forefront of the race.
