IPL Auction 2023 Starts From Today
The stage is all set to witness the IPL auction 2023 from today. Rs 5 crore has also been added in per team's budget
NEW DELHI : The most awaited Indian Premier League ( IPL ) Auction 2023 starts from today. The stage is all set to witness 10 franchisees putting bets on their most favourite cricket players. For a change, this year BCCI has allowed live video conferencing among the management staff of the teams from the auction table.
An amount of Rs 5 crores has been added in per team's budget, which ultimately gives all the participating franchises Rs 95 crore to finalise their teams.
This year, IPL Auction 2023 will take place at the Grand Hyatt in Bolgatty island of Kochi, Kerala. BCCI has reserved two floors of the building for the major event. As per the reports, the event will start at 2:30 pm IST.
It will be aired live on Star Sports. Jio customers who have a subscription can watch the entire event for free. Ben Strokes and Sam Churran are expected to set the mega auction on fire. Talking about players, this time, a player from Assam has been shortlisted in the auction list.
Mukhtar Hussain who is a 23 year old bowler from Assam's Dibrugarh district has made the state proud with constant efforts and talent. It is worth mentioning that, he came out with flying colours in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. By far, Mukhtar Hussain has played the Vijay Hazare Trophy in the year 2017-2018. His name is in the auction list with a base of price Rs 20 lakhs.
He was born on 11th January and is a right-hand batsman and a right-arm medium pace bowler. On 1st December, a new rule was introduced by the governing council members of IPL.
Mukhtar is the second cricketer from Assam, after Riyan Parag of Rajasthan Royals, to make it to the IPL. It remains to be seen what amount he fetches at the auction and which team picks him up.
The new 'Impact Player Rule' will definitely make the matches more interesting. It will add a new dimension to the game, as per the BCCI.
