IT Department Serves Rs 3 Crore Notice To Rickshaw Puller In Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow: In a bizarre incident, a rickshaw puller has been served a notice of Rs 3 crores by the Income Tax Department. This has left the rickshaw puller confused and he headed straight to the police station to seek help. 

This incident took place in Amar Colony in the Bakalpur area of Mathura. A complaint of suspected fraud has been submitted before the Highway police station who are looking into the matter.

However, no cases have been registered by the police in this regard.

The desperate rickshaw puller has appealed to the public for help in a video clip that he uploaded on social media where he narrated the whole ordeal.

The rickshaw puller claimed that he had applied for a PAN card at the Jan Suvidha Kendra that is located in Bakalpur on March 15 as his bank had demanded it. It is to be mentioned that the Kendra belongs to one Tej Prakash.

He later received a coloured photocopy of his PAN card instead of the original from one Sanjai Singh who is a resident of Bakalpur.

Being illiterate, the rickshaw puller had no knowledge of the difference between the original and the coloured photography of the PAN card. He also claimed that he had to make multiple trips to the kendra to get his PAN card for 3 months.

However, he was later shocked to receive a call from the IT department asking him to pay Rs 3,47,54,890.
