Jailed TMC Leader Partha Chatterjee Demands Aloo Chop In Prison Despite Doctor's Objection

Kolkata: One can imagine that senior TMC leader Partha Chatterjee is having a miserable time in prison as he has not received any special treatment from the jail authorities.

Partha had tea and buttered toast in the morning and rice-dal-curry at noon. When he came to know that 'Aloor chop' and 'Beguni' were being fried in the jail canteen, he became adamant and demanded it from the jail officials during the afternoon.

However, the jail doctors objected to it after hearing his demand. But, the former Minister did not listen to the objections and insisted on his demand after which, the doctors finally gave permission.

According to reports, Partha was given two 'Aloor chop', two 'Beguni' and 'Muri' from the jail canteen.

Notably, doctors have put various restrictions on Partha's food and the court ordered to give him food according to the diet prescribed by the doctors.

But, the jail doctors have said that fried items can be eaten for one day.

When the doctors went to examine Partha this morning, the former minister told them that he was having pain in his waist and knees.

A jail official said that a letter is being sent to the state health department based on Partha's statement.

It is reported that there is no specialist doctor in the Presidency Jail. So the Department of Health sent an orthopaedic specialist to look at Partha's current physical problems and was requested to draw up a 'guideline' for his pain relief.
