SRINAGAR: Four foreign terrorists were effectively neutralised in the Sindhara neighbourhood of Poonch by Indian security personnel working with the Jammu and Kashmir Police in a decisive and well-planned combined operation. An intense battle took place throughout the operation, which was on Monday night, and continued into early Tuesday morning.

According to the additional director general of police (ADGP) for Jammu Zone, Mukesh Singh, the gunfight resumed at approximately 5 am on Tuesday, resulting in the elimination of four terrorists. The security forces involved in the operation included the Indian Army's Special Forces, Rashtriya Rifles, J&K Police troops, and other supporting units.

Army officials reported that the initial encounter occurred around 11:30 pm on Monday, prompting the deployment of drones and other night surveillance equipment to gain a strategic advantage. With the break of dawn, the confrontation reignited, leading to a heavy exchange of fire between the security forces and the terrorists.

While the identity of the terrorists is yet to be confirmed, Indian Army officials believe that they are likely foreign militants. The process of ascertaining their identities is currently underway.

"The terrorists killed in the operation are most likely foreign terrorists and their identities are being ascertained," Indian Army officials said.

The successful operation in Poonch marks a significant victory for the joint efforts of the security forces and the Jammu and Kashmir Police in combating terrorism in the region. By neutralizing four terrorists, the operation has dealt a severe blow to the militant network, hindering their nefarious activities and ensuring the safety of the local population.
