BENGALURU: In a strange incident in Karnataka, a 33-year-old man allegedly set the bank on fire for being disappointed over the rejection of his loan application.

The incident took place on Sunday 9 January in a Canara bank Branch located in the Haveri district of Karnataka. The branch is at Hadugonda village that comes under the jurisdiction of Kaginele police.

The police arrested the accused person for committing mischief by fire that intended to cause property damage.

An FIR has been filed against him under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) section 435 section 436 and section 477 as informed by the police sources. The case has been registered in the Kagineli police station located in the area.

According to reports the man approached the bank seeking a loan but the bank authorities refused to accept his application for the loan due to certain issues with the documents.

The bank has checked for the verification of all his documents but later rejected them after finding the details inappropriate. It is said that the bank denied the loan request for the reason that his CIBIL score was less.
