Bhopal: An influencer, named Aarti Sahu, in Madhya Pradesh, was booked for hurting religious sentiments after a video of her dancing at the gate of a temple went viral.

The temple in question is the Janrai Toriya temple which is located in the Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh.

In the video, the influencer can be seen dancing 'provocatively' to the song 'Second Hand Jawani' at the entrance of the temple. In addition, the influencer had danced at the gate of the temple with her shoes on. The girl posted the video on her Instagram in which she can be seen wearing a red Kurti. With over 25 lakh followers on Instagram, the video did not take much time to go viral.

The video also triggered the anger of various Hindu organisations who accused the influencer for hurting religious sentiments for fame and money.

On Sunday, a case was registered against the girl by the police for hurting religious sentiments after the video of the girl dancing at the entrance of the temple to the tune of a Bollywood song went viral.

This development was made after a complaint was lodged by the Bajrang Dal leader for dancing outside the Ram-Sita temple in an 'obscene' manner and hurting Hindu sentiments.

Aarti Sahu later released a video in which she claimed that she had been visiting the temple in question since childhood. She apologized while adding that posting videos from Instagram was the main source of earnings for her family.

She said, "I regret and seek apology from people if my videos hurt their sentiments. It was not my intention."
