Madhya Pradesh: Several Killed In Jabalpur Hospital Fire

Jabalpur: Several people were killed and  at least 23 injured after a massive fire broke out at a hospital in Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur on Monday.

The incident occurred at New Life Multi-speciality Hospital near Damoh Naka area of Jabalpur in the afternoon.

As per reports, several fire brigade teams have reached the New Life Medicity Hospital and trying to control the blaze and evacuate patients from the medical facility.

It is suspected due to a short circuit the fire broke out.

Speaking over the same, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister termed the incident as unfortunate and said, ''I am in constant touch with the local administration and collector. The Chief Secretary has been directed to keep an eye on the entire matter. Every effort is being made for relief and rescue."

Meanwhile, the CM has announced ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh each for the next kin of people who lost their lives in the incident.
