On the Mumbai-Agra highway in Dhule, which is more than 300 miles from the state capital, the accident, according to police officials, occurred at around 10.45 am close to the Palasner village.

According to reports, the truck's brakes failed, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle. Then, from the rear, it struck a car, a container, two motorcycles, and two more vehicles.

The vehicle, according to sources, was travelling from Madhya Pradesh to Dhule. Some of the casualties were people waiting for a bus at the stop, he claimed.
