Maharashtra Bride Marries Relative After Drunk Groom Fails To Reach On Time

MUMBAI: In an interesting turn of events, a bride tired of waiting for her drunken groom at the wedding venue ended up getting married to a relative who was present at the venue.

The incident took place in the Malkapur Pangra Village located in the Buldhana district of Maharashtra.

As per reports, the wedding was scheduled to take place on Friday last week i.e. on 22 April, however, after completing all the important rituals the bride was waiting for her groom who got drunk just before his marriage which resulted in reaching the venue at least 4 hours late.

The father later decided to get his daughter married to a relative as all the preparations were done and it was important to complete the wedding at the auspicious time.

As per the timing the wedding rituals were meant to take place at 04:00 pm on 22 April but the groom appeared to be missing and came after 4 hours.

The family members of the bride kept waiting till 08:00 pm at night but the groom was busy dancing with his friends in an inebriated condition as informed by locals.

While speaking about the strange wedding the bride's mother said that the groom reached at 8:00 pm instead of 04:00 pm and started fighting at the mandap and the father of the bride refused to accept him.

Later the father approached a relative who came to attend the wedding function and asked him to marry his daughter as all preparations were already done and they cannot effort to cancel the wedding.

The relative accepted to get married to the bride who was eagerly waiting for her groom at the mandap. The girl's father finally got his daughter married to one of his relatives.
