Ajit Pawar tests positive for COVID

Mumbai: Ajit Pawar, the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra tested positive for COVID-19. He has been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai.

Bharatiya Janata Party leader and the former Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fernandes also tested positive for the virus. He was admitted to a government-run hospital in Mumbai. His current condition is stable.

Maharashtra is the worst affected state by COVID with 1,41,001 total active cases. 14,60,755 patients have recovered from the virus. In the last 24 hours, 112 people lost their lives to the deadly virus. A total of 43,264 people died from COVID in the state so far. The fatality rate of Maharashtra is 2.63 per cent.
