Mamata Banerjee asks PM Narendra Modi to rethink CAA, NRC & NPR during meeting in Kolkata

NEW DELHI: Post a significant meeting between CM of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee and PM Narendra Modi at Raj Bhawan in Kolkata, Banerjee informed the press that she had asked Modi to rethink CAA, NRC as well as NPR.

She also spoke about Rs 28,000 crore due to the state. Another Rs 7,000 crore is due on account of Cyclone Bulbul, she said.

Modi arrived amid anti-CAA protests organised by different political parties in the city.

He is expected to spend the night at Ramakrishna Mission in Belur Math.

He had tweeted, "I am excited to be in West Bengal today and tomorrow. I am delighted to be spending time at the Ramakrishna Mission and that too when we mark Swami Vivekananda’s Jayanti. There is something special about that place."

The Prime Minister will dedicate four heritage buildings -- the Old Currency Building, the Belvedere House, the Metcalfe House, and the Victoria Memorial Hall -- to people of this nation.
