Man from Vadodara thrashes wife brutally after losing ludo game

GUJARAT: Man from Vadodara thrashed his wife so badly after losing a ludo game that the wife ended up with an injured spinal cord in a hospital. The wife had convinced the man to play online ludo game instead of venturing out amid lockdown.

A media report which quoted 181 Abhayam Helpline counsellors as saying,"A sore loser, he started arguing with his wife and the verbal duel turned ugly. He started beating her with such ferocity that the woman developed a gap between two of her vertebrae.

The woman has decided to stay with her parents. She has not filed a complaint and the husband had apologized, claim reports.

Lockdown has also witnessed a rise in domestic violence against women. From March 24 till Thursday, the 181 women’s helpline service has registered 72 cases of crimes against women. Cases related to making obscene comments made against women through various ways including WhatsApp and social media have also been registered.
