MUMBAI:

In an unusual event, a Maharashtra man married his own daughter, taking advantage of his wife's absence from the house.

According to police, Raju Pawar, a daily wage labourer from Purandarar, Pune, recently married his 13-year-old daughter with the help of other people.

Raju's wife was not at home at the time of the tragic occurrence. The woman has been living with her parents in their house for the past six months. During her absence, her husband and daughter had been living on their own. After discovering her husband's wrongdoing, she went to the police station and filed a complaint against him and a few others.

The police filed an arrest warrant for Raju and the others under the Child Marriage (Prohibition) Act. Sadasiva Pawar, Abbu Ramesh Pawar, Mukesh Pawar, and Ajay Ramesh Pawar are the other accused.
