Cautionary Message Believed To Be Issued By MHA Revealed To Be Fake

A message issued by the MHA claiming China's intention to supply toxic firecrackers to India has been circulating on social media which has now been revealed to be fake.

New Delhi: A fake news has been circulating on social media claiming China's intention to send special firecrackers filled with harmful to India that will cause asthma & eye diseases. 

The fake message read, "According to intelligence, since Pakistan cannot attack India directly, it has demanded China to take revenge on India. China has filled firecrackers with special types of firecrackers, which are toxic to carbon monoxide gas to spread asthma in India. Apart from this, in India, special lighting decorative lights are also being made for developing eye diseases. Paro has been used in large quantities, please be aware this Diwali and do not use these Chinese products. Spread this message to all Indians. Jai Hind."

The fake news was busted by a Twitter handle with the username PIB Fact Check which counters "misinformation on Govt. policies/schemes". The tweet read, "A message in circulation, allegedly issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs claims that China is sending special firecrackers & lights to India to cause asthma & eye diseases."
