Guwahati: We live in an era when people are often seen complaining that the people in power do not take their concerns seriously. However, when a politician or someone who wields immense power due to his/her position in life listens to the aam janta, it feels rather great, doesn't it? On Friday last, Madhya Pradesh Pradesh Energy Minister Pradyuman Singh Tomar set such an example when cleaned the toilets of the commissioner's office in Gwalior after a woman employee complained about the unhygienic condition of the washrooms.
Taking matters into his own hands, the minister asked local officials to hand him the cleaning materials. Although he had the option of asking for help, he refused to do so. Instead of waiting for staff to arrive so that they could clear the washrooms, Pradyuman Singh Tomar himself set to work. Donning a pair of orange-colored rubber gloves and wielding a hose, the Minister cleaned out the toilet with determination and zeal.
Later, Pradyuman Singh Tomar told media persons that dirty toilets cause a nuisance for all, especially, women. He further urged local officials to ensure that the toilets are always kept in a clean and hygienic condition. "Prime Minister Narendra Modi to MP Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan make continuous efforts to ensure cleanliness. Offices should be clean", he further stated. Needless to say, Tomar has been hailed by netizens for his unique deed by netizens who have been quick to shower him with praises.
"Huge respects for you sh Tomar. You are an example to many non-contributing ministers and MLAs", wrote one Twitter user, while another wrote, "Very very rare example set by the #BJP leader. Hope the others take interest in at least inspection of toilets, things will positively change. A better example of swachh bharat then cleaning "clean" roads with brooms."
