NEW DELHI: The Prime Minister of India has taken part in the Pariksha Pe Charcha event to interact with students from different age groups belonging to different parts of the country. The event has been organised in the Talkatora Indoor Stadium located in New Delhi.

Pariksha Pe Charcha is a flagship program of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to talk to students from the nooks and corners of the country. While the students can put forward their questions regarding any topic related to their education as well as other issues related to them, the PM attempts to solve their problems. He also provides several tips attempting to guide them towards a bright future.

"I urge the parents not to pressurize their children. But at the same time, students should also not underestimate their capabilities, said the Prime Minister in the 6th edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha.

Taking on the occasion, the prime minister urged the parents not to put undue mental pressure on students for securing more marks in the examinations as well as to compare them with others.

"It is very natural for family members to have a lot of expectations and there is nothing wrong in that, but if the family members are having these expectations due to social status then it is a matter of concern," Narendra Modi added.

He also cited the example of a cricketer on the need for concentration and the ability to ignore what is not essential.

According to reports, as many as 38 lakh students from different levels of education have applied for this year's event, out of which nearly 16 lakh belong to different state boards across the country.

Apart from the 100s of students who were chosen to be physically present at the event venue, thousands more were connected via virtual means. Lakhs of citizens including students, parents and other people also watched the live streaming of the event. Live streaming of the event for public viewing was also organised at several locations.
