New Delhi: Indigenous Drishti 10 UAV unveils, Enhancing India's Maritime Surveillance Capabilities

NEW DELHI: The Indian Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar presented the first domestically produced Drishti 10 Starliner Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) at an event in Hyderabad, marking a significant development towards enhancing India's intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities. Originated by Adani Defence and Aerospace, this UAV represents a historical advancement for India as it strives to attain maritime dominance through self-dependence on advanced defence technologies.

During the flag-off ceremony, Admiral R Hari Kumar commended Adani Group for their commitment in aligning with Navy's needs and building a strong network of partners and capabilities. He stressed on Drishti 10 UAV being crucial to augment naval abilities for evolving maritime surveillance and reconnaissance requirements.

Admiral Hari Kumar claimed that the integration of Drishti 10 marks a significant milestone in India's attainment of self-sufficiency for ISR technology and dominance in maritime. He added that this achievement will advance our naval capabilities, improving readiness to tackle constantly changing surveillance and reconnaissance challenges at sea.

The Drishti 10 Starliner is a sophisticated platform for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance with an exceptional ability to last up to 36 hours and carry a payload of up to 450 kg. A noteworthy feature is its certification by NATO's STANAG 4671 as the sole all-weather military aircraft approved for airworthiness in both segregated and unsegregated airspace. This unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is designed specifically for maritime operations, set to be transported from Hyderabad en route Porbandar.

D Sridhar Babu, Telangana's Minister of Industries and Commerce, IT, Electronics and Legislative Affairs praised Adani Defence and Aerospace for creating a flourishing framework for unmanned systems. The Director General of Army Aviation Lieutenant General Ajay Suri emphasized the growing need for drones enabled with satellite communication. He also revealed that both the Indian Navy as well as Indian Army had already placed orders to acquire two Drishti-10 drones respectively.

VP of Adani Enterprises, Jeet Adani stressed the worldwide importance of surveillance and reconnaissance platforms while proudly serving the Indian Navy. CEO of Adani Defence and Aerospace, Ashish Rajvanshi viewed transferring ownership to the Drishti 10 Starliner UAV as a groundbreaking moment in achieving autonomy and domestication.

Adani Aerospace Park, located in Hyderabad, is India's inaugural private final assembly line for military-grade unmanned systems with over 70% indigenous contribution. Adani Defence and Aerospace has demonstrated their dedication to enhancing India's global capabilities by designing, developing, and producing advanced defence products.
