Obama's new book, 'A Promised Land' features Rahul Gandhi, Manmohan Singh

New Delhi: In the recent book of Barack Obama, the former president of the United States of America, has written about Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and India's former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh. In Obama's 'A Promised Land,' he compares Rahul Gandhi to a student who does his coursework but lacks the aptitude to master a subject.

He wrote: "Rahul Gandhi has a nervous, unformed quality about him, as if he were a student who'd done the coursework and was eager to impress the teacher but deep down lacked either the aptitude or the passion to master the subject."

Obama also mentioned about Manmohan Singh as someone "having a kind of impassive integrity."

Both Rahul Gandhi and Manmohan Singh have met the former US President Obama.

During Singh's tenure as a Prime Minister, he met Barack Obama multiple times. They had a good working relationship after India signed up a nuclear deal with the US.

The US President-elect Joe Biden has also been described by Obama in his recent book. Biden was Vice President to Obama during his tenure. Obama described Biden as a decent man who "might get prickly if he thought he wasn't given his due - a quality that might flare up when dealing with a much younger boss."

Referring to Vladimir Putin, the Russian President, Obama wrote that the leader reminds him of the street-smart bosses who used to run Chicago at one point in time.

A book review by the New York Times says that 'A Promised Land' focuses more on Obama's political stance than his personal life.
