PM Modi Conferred With Bhutan's Highest Civilian Award

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has added yet another award in his long list of civilian honours as India's neighbour Bhutan on Friday conferred country's highest civilian award Ngadag Pel gi Khorlo upon him.

In response, Modi said, "Thank you Lyonchhen @PMBhutan! I am deeply touched by this warm gesture, and express my grateful thanks to His Majesty the King of Bhutan."

Prior to this, the Prime Minister has also received a couple of awards from other countries.

Saudi Arabia awarded him with the Order of Abdulaziz Al Saud in 2016. This award is the highest honour of the Gulf State which is awarded to non-Muslim dignitaries.

Afghanistan felicitated him with their topmost civilian honour namely the State Order of Ghazi Amir Amanullah Khan in 2016.

He was bestowed with the Grand Collar of the State of Palestine Award in 2018 which happens to be the highest honour of Palestine which is awarded to foreign dignitaries.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) conferred him with their highest civilian award, the Order of Zayed Award in 2019.

He also got awarded with Russia's highest civilian honour, the Order of St. Andrew Award in 2019.

Maldives awarded him with the Order of the Distinguished Rule of Nishan Izzuddin in 2019. It happens to be the the highest honour of the Island Nation which is awarded to foreign dignitaries.

He has also been the recipient of Bahrain's top honour, the King Hamad Order of the Renaissance - First Class in 2019.

Last but not the least, he awarded with the Legion of Merit by the US Government last year. It is the United States Armed Forces award given for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services and achievements.
