NEW DELHI: On the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be unveiling a 108 feet tall statue of Lord Hanuman in the Morbi town of Gujarat.

On Saturday 16 April, the PM is scheduled to inaugurate the Hanuman statue through a video conference session marking the birth anniversary of Lord Hanuman.

The giant statue of Lord Hanuman is built in the west at the Ashram of Bapu Keshwanand Ji which is in Morbi of Gujarat.

The office of the Prime Minister informed that the statue is the 2nd of the 4 statues that are being built in the four different directions across India as an initiative.

These four statues are part of the Hanumanji Char Dham project which is related to the Lord and his idol as per the PMO (Prime Minister's Office).

The prime minister on Saturday morning took to Twitter to inform that a 108 feet statue of Hanumanji will be inaugurated in Gujarat's Morbi at 11:00 am on the special occasion of Hanuman Jayanti.

PM Modi also added that he is honoured of getting the opportunity to be a part of the inauguration programme through video conferencing.

Notably, in 2010 the first statue of the Char Dham project of Lord Hanuman was built in the north direction in Shimla of Himachal Pradesh.

According to reports, construction work for the 3rd statue in the south has already begun in Rameshwaram of Tamil Nadu.

It may be mentioned that Hanuman Jayanti celebrated across the country is one of the significant Hindu religious festivals that marks the birth of the Hindu God Hanuman.

According to the Hindi calendar, Hanuman Jayanti falls in the Chaitra month and it is observed on full moon day. The festival holds much significance in North Indian states where people worship Lord Hanuman on this day following important rituals.
