New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday said that political stability and peace have been established in northeast region.

While addressing an event at the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Shah praised the central government for focusing on the northeast region and said that the region is ready to play the role of contributor in the development of the country.

He further asserted that all the state government in northeast have completed their 5-year terms while on the other hand, election have conducted peacefully in the region.

''Political stability and peace have been established in the northeast region and due to this soon the region will contribute in the development of the said region,'' he added.

He also urged ICC to invest in the region in order to empower it and boost its development.

The minister also said that the government has taken a new approach in its development boost in the region that revolves around "three Es" - empathy, empowerment and enabler.

While commenting on the connectivity in the region, Shah said that currently there is rail and road to every capital city in the region. Apart from these, national highways have been built in all the states.
