President Ram Nath Kovind Donates Rs 5 Lakh for Construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya

New Delhi: The President of India Ram Nath Kovind donated Rs 5 lakh towards the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. He donated the money on Friday, January 15. He kicked off the countrywide donation drive.

The co-president of VHP, Govind Dev Giriji Maharaj met President Kovind today. He was accompanied by Kumar, the temple construction committee's chief Nripendra Mishra, and RSS leader Kulbhushan Ahuja.

Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan also donated Rs 1 Lakh for the construction of the temple. BJP leader from Patna, Sushil Kumar Modi launched the Samarpan Nidhi Sangraha Abhiyan, saying that he hopes every Hindu family in Bihar contributes towards the building of the Ram Mandir at Ayodhya. He said that he is sure that whatever fund is required for the temple, they will get it out of people's cooperation.

The temple trust treasurer Maharaj said on December 28 that the approximate cost of building the temple is Rs 300-400 crore. The entire complex on the 67-acre land will cost not less than Rs 1,100 crores, said the treasurer.

Around three and a half years would take to complete the construction of the temple. The trust set up by the Centre, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Nyas, has received more than Rs 100 crore in online donations.

Ram Mandir Nidhi Samarpan Samiti started a fundraising campaign for the construction of Ram Mandir in Uttar Pradesh's Ayodhya. This was informed by Dr. Ram Umesh Chakraborty, general secretary of Ram Mandir Nidhi Samarpan Samiti, Assam in a press conference held on Tuesday at Dispur Press Club in Guwahati. Dr Ram Umesh Chakraborty said, "The campaign will be start From January 15 ( upcoming Makar Sankranti) to February 27 (Magh Purnima) across the country.

The campaign aims to collect up to Rs. 20-25 crores from Assam. Receipt coupons of Rs 10, Rs 100, and Rs 1,000 have been printed by the central government and anyone who wishes to donate Rs. 2,000 or more will be given a receipt.
