NEW DELHI: The condition of President Ram Nath Kovind is said to be stable as per the medical bulleting released by the Army Hospital (Research And Referral) where he was admitted for a check-up after complaining of chest discomfort on Friday.

"The condition of the Hon'ble President Shri Ram Nath Kovind is stable. He is being referred to All India Institute of Medical Sciences AIIMS, Delhi for further investigation," the bulletin said.

Several leaders have enquired about the health of the president, during his stay in the Army Hospital, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Health Minister Harsh Vardhan were among others.

The President thanked all who enquired about his health and wished him well.

"The President has been under observation after a routine medical checkup. He thanks all who enquired about his health and wished him well," President Kovind's Twitter handle stated.

"The President is being supervised by doctors after regular medical checkups. The President has expressed his thanks to all the well-wishers who have come to know about his health," the page added. 

Earlier, on Friday the Prime Minister's Office tweeted, "PM Narendra Modi spoke to Rashtrapati Ji's son. He enquired about the President's health and prayed for his well-being," PMO tweeted. PM Modi is currently on a two-day visit to Bangladesh."

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also tweeted and said he has talked to the President's family to check up on his well being, and prayed for his good health.

"Have spoken to Rashtrapati Ji's family and inquired about his health. I pray to the almighty for his good health and well-being," the minister's tweet read.

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh visited the hospital on Friday after Kovind was admitted.

The 75-year-old President had complained of chest discomfort in the morning of Friday and thereafter he was rushed to the Army Military Hospital.

The President was put under observation as he underwent routine tests, Earlier, in a statement the hospital authorities said: "He is undergoing routine check-up and is under observation. His condition is stable."
