New Delhi: Finally there's some relief for the consumers of Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) on the eve of New Year as National Oil Marketing companies have decided to slash the prices of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder by Rs.102.50 and it will be implemented from January 2022 onwards.

The prices of the commercial LPG cylinder will now cost Rs. 1998.50 in Delhi and this will begin from 1 January, 2022.

Earlier, the prices of 19 kg LPG cylinders witnessed a hike of Rs. 100 thereby pushing the prices of the commercial cylinders to Rs. 2,101 in the national capital.

The prices of the LPG cylinder touched a new high in 2012 when a single LPG cylinder costed around Rs 2,200.

Meanwhile, the prices of domestic cylinders weighing 14.2 kg, 5 kg, 10 kg composite or 5 kg have not been reduced as of now.

It means that the prices of the 19 kg domestic cylinders will remain unchanged and will cost Rs 2,072 while the commercial ones will be priced at 1998.50 from today onwards.

The 19kg commercial cylinder in Chennai will cost Rs. 2,132 while in Mumbai, it will now cost Rs. 1,948.5.

This reduction in prices will be hugely beneficial for restaurants, cafes, tea stalls and eateries who are the primary consumers of the 19kg cylinder and it will definitely be a sigh of relief for them.

 The Oil Marketing Companies of India revises the rate of LPG cylinder for all the states and Union Territories in India on a monthly basis.

The prices of some essential commodities such as fuel and cooking gas had been inflated as a result of which the common people had to go through some tough times and it also led to some protests throughout the country.
