Pune man arrested for brutally murdering his wife's social media buddy

Guwahati: In a sensational incident reported from Maharashtra, a man and his accomplice were arrested for allegedly killing a 28-year-old man with whom he had found his wife chatting on social media platforms. The murder took place on Aundh hospital premises at 12:30 pm on Sunday, reports said.

The deceased, identified as Saurabh Vyankat Jadhav (28), who was a resident of Sanjaynagar in Aundh, was working as a delivery executive at a private automobile spare parts dealership shop.

The accused were identified as Ayaj Shaikh and his friend Sonya Barathe. According to Sangvi police station officials, the accomplice Barathe already has a history of assault cases against him.

Meanwhile, a complaint was lodged by the accused man's wife's brother Sushant Vyankat Jadhav, who told police that the killed man knew the woman who later went on to marry Shaikh.

The duo was arrested by Unit 4 of the Pimpri-Chinchwad crime branch on Monday. Police have confirmed that one of them was arrested from Pune, and another from Pimpri- Chinchwad area.

The police have said that the deceased's brother said that the woman and his brother knew each other before she got married two years ago. However, it is yet to be confirmed.

As per reports, the woman has also confessed that she used to chat with Saurabh over Facebook. However, she said that she had never met him in person.

Saurabh was reportedly taken to the Aundh hospital by the accused where he was attacked with sharp weapons on his neck, hands, and near the right ear.

A case under Sections 302 (murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code was registered at Sangvi police station against the duo.
