New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to inaugurate the Purvanchal Expressway which has been built at a cost of Rs 22,500 crore in the state's Sultanpur district on Tuesday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will land on 341-km-long Purvanchal Expressway at around 1.30 pm by Lockheed Martin C-130 Hercules aircraft. The Chief Minister of the state Yogi Adityanath will be present to receive PM Modi.

Purvanchal Expressway inauguration date, cost and location:

The Purvanchal Expressway inauguration date is November 11, 2021 i.e. today and it has been constructed at a cost of 22,500 crore, starts from Chandsarai village, located near the existing Lucknow-Sultanpur Road (NH-731), in Lucknow district. It ends at Haidaria village on National Highway 31 in Ghazipur, 18 km from the UP-Bihar border, in Ghazipur district.

Purvanchal Expressway route and connected districts:

The expressway connects nine districts of the state such as Lucknow, Barabanki, Amethi, Sultanpur, Ayodhya, Ambedkar Nagar, Azamgarh, Mau and Ghazipur. It will also have 22 flyovers, 7 railway-ver-bridges, 7 major bridges, 114 minor bridges, 6 toll palzas, 45 vehicluar-underpasses, 139 light VUP, 87 87 pedestrian underpass and 525 box culverts.

Equipped with CNG Stations and Electric Recharge Stations:

The expressway will also be quiped with CNG stations, electric recharge stations for vehicles and it will also be connected with defence corridor through the Agra and Bundelkhand expressways.

Notably, the expressway has been designed in such a way that the vehicles can cruise at a speed of 120 km per hour but the speed has been fixed at 100 kmph.

Safety on expressway:

The authority has also has taken of safety measures on this expressway. Along with police vehicles, cattle catchers' vehicles and 16 ambulances will be deployed for safety and medical emergencies.

Aircraft can land on this expressway:

According to state Additional Chief Secretary Home Avnish Awasthi, any class of aircraft can land on the expressway. So far, about Rs 20,500 crore has been spent in this project.

Notably, earlier it takes nearly 6 hours to reach Lucknow from Ghazipur but with expressway now one can Ghazipur in three and half hours.
