Rajasthan Bride Marries Another Man after Groom's Drunk Dancing Delays 'Baraat'

Rajasthan: A bride married another man after the groom became intoxicated and danced during his baraat, delaying the procession by several hours in the Churu district of Rajasthan.

The bride became so furious that she refused to marry the groom and instead sent the wedding parade back.

As per reports, the groom went by the name of Sunil and his relatives reached Chelana village in Rajgarh tehsil and the baraat began its journey at 9 pm but Sunil and his friends became drunk and danced for hours, leaving the baraat waiting for hours.

The timing of the wedding rituals was supposed to be at 1:15 am but there was no indication of the party coming to an end anytime soon. The enraged bride became exhausted while waiting for the baraat. When the baraat finally arrived, she rejected him. The bride's family later decided to let her marry someone else.

The groom's family then reached Rajgarh police station to lodge a complaint against the bride's family who stated that the groom and his family were "careless" about the wedding rituals. They were in a state of fear that this attitude would repeat in future. After seeking advice from the police, both the families cited personal issues claiming it to be the reason for the cancellation of the marriage and gave a written confirmation on the same.

Earlier in January, a woman hailing from Tamil Nadu married her cousin after her groom slapped her for dancing at a wedding the day before her own wedding which was scheduled on January 20. The bride arrived at the hall at the wedding function on January 19 dancing with her relatives. As the groom did not like the way she arrived, both of them were engaged in a heated argument after which, the wedding was called off.
