The former Chairperson of Tata Sons and most eminent Indian Industrialist, Ratan Naval Tata turns a year older today on Tuesday 28 December. Netizens took to Twitter to wish the business tycoon on his 84th birthday and wrote heartfelt birthday wishes making the day special for him.

Apart from his professional life, Ratan Tata is known among the people for his personality which is an inspiration for many. He is also a philanthropist and an author who is regarded as the most successful businessman in recent history.

Tata also served as the chairman of Tata Group from the year 1990 to 2012 and then again worked from October 2016 through February 2017 as interim chairman and continues to be the head of its charitable trusts. He is the Chairman of Tata Industries, Tata Chemicals, Tata Motors and Tata Steel.

Ratan Tata was born on 28 December 1937 to one of the richest families in Gujarat. He is the grandson of Jamsedji Tata who was the founder of the Tata group. Tata completed his schooling at Campion School, Mumbai and from Cathedral and John Cannon School after that he had done his graduation from Riverdale Country School located in New York City.

Tata in the year 1959 went to Cornell University, New York for architecture and structural engineering and in 1975 he completed management from Harvard Business School. He had served as an employee with Jones & Emmons in Los Angeles in late 1962 and in the same year, he joined the Tata Group. In 1971, Tata was appointed as the Director-In-Charge of the Nelco (National Radio and Electronics Company Limited).

As a writer, Tata made a great contribution with his books 'The Wit & Wisdom of Ratan Tata' originally published in 2018 and 'From Steel To Cellular' in 2005. Tata was honoured with numerous awards for his contribution in the sector of business including the Padma Bhushan in 2000 and Padma Vibhushan in the year 2008.
