AGRA: In an incident of communal hatred, some of the members of Right-wing groups allegedly set ablaze the residence of a Muslim man who is accused of kidnapping a Hindu woman.

The incident took place on Friday 15 April in the Runakata area of Agra where a mob went on to attack the Muslim man.

However, the Hindu woman said that she went with the Muslim man of her own choice and was not kidnapped.

As per the police, this case is related to the kidnapping incident of a 22-year-old lady who went missing on 11 April 2022.

An official speaking to the media informed that the family members of the missing woman had filed a missing report at the Sikandra police station of Agra.

Meanwhile, police investigating the matter and based on the complaint booked one identified as Sajid 26 years old, owner of a gym in the city. Sajid was booked under section 366 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

However, he is not yet arrested as police are unable to trace him but the kidnapped woman was later traced in the national capital on Wednesday 13 April.

Senior superintendent of police Sudhir Kumar said that the girl has stated in a video clip that she was not kidnapped but went with Sajid of her own choice.

In the video clip that surfaced on social media, the woman claimed that she went with Sajid willingly as she is an adult.

Meanwhile, the members of the right-wing organization demand the arrest of Sajid and on Friday morning they attacked two residences of Sajid in Runakata and set them on fire.

The Senior SP said that two houses were locked and the family members of the accused were missing since 11 April.

He further added that FIR has been filed against the 20 identified and 200 unidentified persons for setting the houses on fire and police in-charge Jitendra Singh was also suspended for negligence in the matter.

However, 9 are arrested from the spot on charges of arson and are currently interrogated informed SSP Sudhir Kumar.
