RSS Expresses Plans To Expand Its Base In India, Shows Interest In NorthEast States

New Delhi: On Saturday, the General Secretary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Dattatreya Hosabale announced its plans to expand its activities in India by reaching all the developmental blocks of the country in a period of three years. 

Addressing the crowd during the three-day Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal (ABKM), he said, "We have decided to expand our activities. At present we have our presence in 4,683 out of 6,483 development blocks but we want to reach all the development blocks of India by March 2024."

He also pointed out that the organisation is not active in the states of Mizoram, Nagaland, Kashmir and Lakshadweep. In a hope to expand its base in these states, the General Secretary of RSS stated that a strategy will have to be planned by the regional Pracharaks of the organisation.

He also informed, "Sangh Shakhas are held at 55,000 places including daily Shakhas (branch), weekly Shakhas, fortnightly and monthly Shakhas."

On the occasion of the platinum jubilee of the Indian independence, exhibitions to commemorate the contributions of the who fought for the freedom of the nation have been planned to be organised by the Sangh.

Speaking on the cracker ban on Diwali, Hosabale said that such decisions should be taken at the beginning of the year and not right before the festival to avoid financial loss faced by manufacturers and traders.
