Guwahati: The sleuths of Telangana's anti-corruption bureau (ACB) on Friday raided the house of Keesara Tahsildar E Balaraju Nagaraju in Telangana and recovered cash worth more than Rs 1.1 crore.

As per official reports,the Tahsildar or tax officer allegedly took the bribe to clear a file related to 28 acres of land of a realtor.

A Village Revenue Officer (VRO) B Sairaj was also reportedly detained in the raid.

Notably, Keesara is the Mandal Headquarter of Medchal-Malkajgiri District which was carved out of Hyderabad and created into a new district.

The anti-corruption sleuth forged a money counting machine to count the bribe amount.

The raid was conducted at the Tahsildar's house in AS Rao Nagar, a major commercial and residential neighbourhood of Hyderabad.

The operation which was conducted on Friday night is likely to continue on Saturday too, said ACB sources.

It is to be mentioned that earlier this year, the ACB caught two female Tahsildars for collecting Rs 93 lakh and Rs 30 lakh bribe each.
