New Delhi: Tata's Taj hotel has been rated the world's strongest hotel brand, according to the latest report from the leading brand valuation consultancy, Brand Finance.

It received an overall Brand Strength Index of 88.9 out of 100, with a corresponding AAA rating for customer familiarity, employee satisfaction and corporate reputation as well as its world-class customer service

"Taj has got 88.9 out of 100 and Triple-A brand rating in the index which reflects the strength of the hotel brand," the report stated. Taj's brand value increased by 6 per cent to $314 million.

It further said that other hotels including the Taj were affected by the 'lockdown' imposed for the epidemic and its prevention. The Taj remained relevant by adjusting the strategy to the needs of the tourists.

"Taj has been recognized as the world's strongest hotel brand for the second time in a row. This attests to its excellent services," said Puneet Chatwal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), IHCL.

As per the report, in terms of most valuable hotel brands, Hilton Hotels & Resorts tops the list with a brand value of $12 billion. It is followed by Hyatt with a value of $5.9 billion and Holiday Inn with $4.2 billion.
