New Delhi: The horns of vehicles in India are soon going to play the tunes of Indian music.

According to the statements made by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, it has been revealed that the Central government is preparing to pass a new law under which it will be able to replace the horns of vehicles with Indian music.

On Monday, the Union Minister of Road Transport and Highway Nitin Gadkari, while addressing a highway inauguration event, expressed his plans to introduce Indian music as vehicle horns and ditch the conventional sounds of horns. This also includes ambulances and police vehicles. As per the Union Minister, the horns of vehicles can get a more melodious tune so that it can have a soothing effect on the commuters.

"We are thinking of bringing a law under which use of the sound of Indian musical instruments like harmonium, tabla and other musical instruments as a horn for vehicles will be compulsory. Sirens of ambulances and police vehicles will also be replaced with soothing sounds," he said.

In other news, the central government had identified twelve national highways which includes the Mohanbari-Tinsukia highway in Assam, for developing them into airstrips for the landing of fighter aircraft and military planes at the time of emergencies.
