NEW DELHI: Early on Monday, a driver of a speeding car with a "district judge" sticker struck and killed a food delivery executive riding a motorbike, according to authorities.

An officer reported that the event took place at 1:30 AM close to the Parthala roundabout within the boundaries of Noida Sector 113 Police Station.

The Zomato delivery executive, age 27, was brought to a private hospital in Bisrakh, but he passed away while receiving care. A local police official claimed that the car's driver also left the scene of the collision.

"Around 1.30 AM, police from Sector 113 received a report of a crash near a U-turn between Ek Murti and Parthala roundabouts. A biker was struck by a car and transported to the Yatharth hospital for treatment "said a police official.

"Parvindar Kumar, a biker from Bulandshahr who was living in Ghaziabad at the time of his passing, was recognised. He was a delivery executive for Zomato "explained the official.

The body was submitted for a post-mortem after Kumar's family was later informed, the official continued.

A district judge emblem was seen on the bonnet of the Toyota Corolla involved in the collision, according to a local police officer.

An FIR has been filed in the case under sections 304A (death by negligence) and 279 (rash driving), according to Sector 113 Police Station In-Charge Pramod Kumar.

"The number of passengers in the car at the time of the incident is unclear. The location turned out to be empty. The driver sped off, "Kumar told the press.

"More investigation in the case is underway," he said, adding that the car had been taken to the police station.

Earlier this year, on the Delhi-Lucknow National Highway in Amroha, three family members were killed when their automobile collided with another vehicle.

Three individuals were confined inside the severely damaged Innova vehicle. Two persons, including a woman, were carried to a government hospital where physicians ruled them brought dead while the car's driver died on the spot.
