Lucknow: In a controversial statement, Uttar Pradesh Minister Anand Swaroop Shukla has said that Muslims should bow to the "land and culture of India", and also claimed that Hindu deities such as Lord Ram, Krishna and Shiva were their ancestors.

To put weightage to his provocative remarks, he further said that the mindset of the Muslims that intended to create an Islamic state in the country has been "destroyed" by the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath who raised the flag of Hindutva and "Indian Culture".

On Thursday, while addressing the media, the UP minister Anand Swaroop Shukla gave an account of the work done by the Adityanath-led government in the last four and half years and said, "The ancestors of the Muslims of India are lord ram, Krishna and Shankar. they do not need to see the land of Kaaba. These people should bow to the land and culture of India. After Syria and Afghanistan, some people from different countries want to make the world an Islamic State. Some in India have this mindset too. But the Modi and Adityanath governments at the Centre and State have raised the flag of Hindutva and Indian Culture in the country and defeated this mindset."

Shukla also claimed that the recent posters put up in Sambhal were the result of the Samajwadi Party's support of Islamic terrorists.

Shukla further said that the ghazis have been completely wiped out from Uttar Pradesh and added that there will be no possibility of such powers raising their heads in future.

"There are still people with such mentality. These are stupid people. Their ancestors became Muslim out of fear. This kind of thinking cannot flourish under the Modi and Adityanath governments," he said, attacking AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, adding that Owaisi's ancestors had tried to make Hyderabad a separate state but failed.
