UP Woman Changes Gender To Be With Girlfriend After Families Oppose Relationship

Prayagraj: Love has no boundaries and true love has the power to overcome any hurdle, even if both the lovers are of the same gender.

In a rare incident, a woman in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj changed her gender to be with her girlfriend after their families stood vehemently against the relationship.

Two women, who happen to be lesbians, vowed to be partners throughout their journey but much to their despair, their families did not accept their relationship. As a result, one of them decided to undergo surgery to switch her gender.

The woman who is madly in love with her partner decided to change her gender to avoid any obstacles and to put an end to the interference of other people.

The woman tried her best to convince the families but her attempt went in vain as they did not listen to her. Hence, she decided to change her gender after she was left with no other viable option.

A team of doctors at Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital in Prayagraj conducted the sex reassignment surgery when altercations were made to her upper body parts and chest restructuring.

The doctors said that the surgery would take another 1.5 years, after which she would become a man.

"The woman will be given testosterone replacement therapy. The testosterone therapy will stimulate the growth of chest hair," Doctor Mohit Jain told the media.

He further went on to explain that the woman would not be in a position to conceive and become pregnant after the gender change surgery.

"This is the first time that such an operation has been conducted and a time of around 18 months is expected to complete this. A full health check-up of the woman was done and she is doing fine," he added.
