Ballia: Yet another instance of rape in India has come to light after a horrifying video of a minor girl being gang-raped by two youths in Uttar Pradesh's Ballia district surfaced on the internet. After the video started doing the rounds on social media, leading it to go viral, the Uttar Pradesh police took cognizance of the matter and launched a manhunt for the accused in the case.
As per reports in the media, the incriminating video was filmed by some youths who happened to be passing by the area where the minor was being raped. They went on to film the heinous crime on camera, and upload the video on social media, leading it to spread like wildfire on the platforms. This incident reveals the level of apathy towards incidents of rape, which seem to have become commonplace in India.
Uttar Pradesh police, meanwhile, have registered a case of rape and have also charged the youths who filmed the video under the IT Act for their absolute and utter disregard towards the horrific crime. The cops assigned with bringing justice have said that the manhunt is on to nab the accused persons and and all resources have been deployed.
This comes just two days after Uttar Pradesh Police arrested a 25-year-old man for allegedly raping and thrashing a 70-year-old woman in the Ballia district. The incident took place on Saturday. A case was registered against the accused on the basis of a police complaint lodged by the nephew of the 70-year-old woman.
In a similar incident, 4 men in Bihar's Arrah district allegedly gang-raped a 15-year-old girl and filmed the entire episode on camera. As per reports, the teenaged girl was walking to the market when the 4 accused reportedly stopped her, took her to a private location, and raped her. They shockingly went on to record the horrific incident on camera. Later, they uploaded the clip on the internet.
