KULLU, HIMACHAL PRADESH:

A fight took out between a Himachal Pradesh local SP and one of the Himachal Pradesh CM's security personnel, and a video clip of the event has gone viral on social media.

The event occurred today outside Kullu's Bhuntar airport, when the Chief Minister had gone to meet with Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari.

Although the official version is not yet available, it has been credibly confirmed that DGP Sanjay Kundu has requested a thorough report from DIG (North) Madhusudan, who has also arrived at the airport to undertake an assessment. Kundu, sensing the severity of the situation, also left for Kullu.

In a video posted on social media, Kullu SP Gaurav Singh is seen smacking Additional SP Brijesh Sood, who is in charge of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur's security, allegedly for allowing members of the Four Lane Prabhavit Kisan Sangh to gather outside the airport.

Balwant Singh, the CM's Personal Security Officer (PSO), then booted the SP. In the footage, district police officers can be heard questioning why the SP was attacked. As he withdraws, the SP gets booted and ultimately runs back to rescue himself. The Chief Minister had been sitting in his official vehicle the entire time. Meanwhile, additional members of the Chief Minister's security team and local police officers intervened to diffuse the situation.

State DGP Sanjay Kundu stated that the three policemen involved in the event have been replaced and put on administrative leave till the investigation is completed.

DIG (Central Range) Madhusudan is now in command of the Kullu SP. Sood would be replaced by Puneet Raghu, ASP, 3rd Battalion, Pandoh, according to the DGP's announcement.

The SP and the Chief Minister's security personnel got into a heated dispute regarding letting members of the Four Lane Prabhavit Kisan Sangh gather outside the airport. Around 50 members of the group carrying banners gathered outside Kullu's Bhuntar airport, hoping to see Gadkari and Thakur.

According to sources, the brief altercation occurred when some locals gathered there and raised chants in support of Gadkari becoming prime minister.

Surprisingly, Gadkari stopped his vehicle and got out to give these men with banners a patient listening. A memorandum was given to him by the members of the association. Thakur was also standing next to Gadkari, listening to their complaints; they were seeking increased compensation for land seized for highway widening.
