Woman's Throat Slashed By Classmate In Kerela

The woman and her classmate were reportedly engaged in an argument and the classmate had started beating her before slashing her throat with a knife.

Thiruvananthapuram: On Friday, a woman's throat was slashed by her classmate right after she stepped out of her examination hall in a college in Kerela. 

This incident had taken place in St. Thomas College, which is a premier educational institution located in the district of Kottayam in Kerela.

The woman was had succumbed to her injuries before she could be admitted to a hospital. The classmate who attacked her stayed back in college until the police reached the college and surrendered before them. The classmate has been identified as Abhishek Baiju and is only 22 years old.

As per reports, there were a few students outside the examination hall since the university was conducting an exam. Both the woman and the classmate had finished the exam early and had come out of the exam hall. Both of them had enrolled in the BBA course in the Food Processing Technology department.

Before being attacked, the woman was seen walking and engaging in an argument with her classmate. In a sad turn of events, the classmate took out a knife out of nowhere and immediately slashed the woman's throat.

A security guard who had been watching the two for a while said that the two were engaged in an argument when the classmate suddenly began to do beat the woman. Before he could intervene, the classmate had slashed the throat of the woman.

The motive behind the crime has not been revealed yet. Investigations on this case are still underway.
