New Delhi: Just a day after a 17-year-old boy was brutally beaten and stabbed, another horrific incident came to light wherein, a woman walking with her child was stabbed to death allegedly by a chain snatcher at Delhi's Adarsh Nagar.

The 25-year-old victim, identified as Simran was coming from the market with her two-year-old child, she was also accompanied by her mother when a chain snatcher came and tried to snatch her chain.

Simran fought back and caught the snatcher who later took out a knife and stabbed her, he immediately fled from the scene. Though Simran was immediately rushed to the hospital she was declared brought dead.

The entire incident was captured on a CCTV camera and the footage is doing the rounds on social media. Police officials are analysing the CCTV footage. A case has been registered in this regard and investigations are underway.

DCP Northwest Usha Rangnani said 10 teams have been constituted for further investigation, said reports.

Reportedly, the locals claimed that due to lack of proper patrolling there has been a rise in criminal activities in the national capital.

This is the second stabbing in just two days. In the earlier incident, the 17-year-old was brutally beaten and stabbed after he confronted his sister's stalkers. He was admitted to AIIMS hospital.

As per reports, the incident took place near Sarvodaya Vidhalya No. 2 in Kalkaji. The 18-year-old sister of the victim stated that some boys were stalking and passing indecent remarks on her when her brother tried to confront them. They brutally thrashed him and stabbed him on his abdomen.

Meanwhile, after coming down heavily on the Delhi Police for failing to curb the surging crime in the capital, she asked them to ensure that the perpetrators are swiftly located and arrested. "Have also told DCP South East that CCTV footage will be made available from all nearby CCTV cameras so that the investigation can be assisted," said Atishi in a tweet.

Earlier, she also met the family of the boy and assured them of full support.
