Guwahati: Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh, who is a cancer survivor, has backed Sanjay Dutt, who has reportedly been diagnosed with an aggressive form of lung cancer, to beat the deadly disease.

"You are, have and always will be a fighter @duttsanjay. I know the pain it causes but I also know you are strong and will see this tough phase through. My prayers and best wishes for your speedy recovery" Yuvraj wrote on social media.

Yuvraj had a cancerous tumor in his left lung, which was confirmed to be Seminoma Lung Cancer in 2011. Yuvraj then decided to undergo chemotherapy in Boston and Indianapolis in the USA. He was discharged in March 2012 after undergoing three full cycles of chemotherapy.

Yuvraj said that he started to notice strong signs of the disease in while he was playing for India in the 2011 World Cup, which the team won.

Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt was diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer on Tuesday. On August 08, Dutt had complained of breathlessness and uneasiness because of which he was admitted to Mumbai's Lilavati hospital.

Dutt was tested for the COVID-19, but he tested negative. Later, he was discharged from the hospital.

On August 11, film critic Komal Nahta announced the news of the actor being diagnosed with lung cancer on Twitter, before reports emerged stating that the actor's cancer is at stage three.

As per reports, Dutt needs to undergo immediate and rigorous treatment, for which he will be flying to the United States of America soon.

Dutt had posted on social media: "Hi friends, I am taking a short break from work for medical treatment. My family and friends are with me and I urge my well-wishers not to worry or unnecessarily speculate. With your love and good wishes, I will be back soon!"
