1 killed, 3 injured in road mishap

SILCHAR, Sept 5: A diesel auto bearing No AS-11-DC 7321 met with an accident at Bidang Hill on NH 37 under Lakhipur sub-division at 8 am in the morning today claiming life of a policeman identified as Uparsangh Rongmei, 45, a resident of ndailong village under Jirighat Police Station along with three other passengers who sustained injuries. The driver lost his control over the vehicle which was on way to Jirighat from Fulertal. Rongmei died on way to Silchar Medical College and Hospital. The injured passengers are identified as Chaubi Devi, 55, of Binkandie Part I, and Imachambi Devi, 45, of yagram while the identity of another passenger could not be ascertained. Rongmei is survived by his wife and two daughters. FIR has been filed in the Lakhipur police station in this connection.
