10-bed delivery room with maternity ward iugurated at Lakhipur

Silchar, June 20: The long felt need of a well-equipped delivery room along with a maternity ward has been iugurated at Lakhipur Block Primary Health Centre on Tuesday. The old room has been shifted and transformed into the new one now. “Though we have been able to construct it, we need doctors. There is a dearth of doctors here, only one Medical Officer is here. To give satisfactory service we need doctors,” said Dr Y Kishore Singh, sub divisiol medical officer.

 He urged upon the authorities concerned to do something in this regard. Among others present at the iuguration function include, ADC Cachar, J R Lalsim, in-charge SDO (Civil), Lakhipur, Rimi Paul, chairperson, Lakhipur Municipal Board, Pradip Kumar Dey, ZPC member,  Sanjukta Das, BPM and Jhar Roy.
