10-day NCC camp underway at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Tinsukia

DOOMDOOMA: Under the auspices of 63 Assam Girls’ BN NCC, a 10-day long NCC camp from May 2 to May 11 has been organized at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Rongajan in Tinsukia district. Altogether 400 students from different schools and colleges are taking part.

The camp has been conducted under the supervision of Commanding Officer (CO) of 63 Assam Girls BN NCC, Surya Chakra, Colonel Jitendra Kumar and CO 11 Assam NCC Col. Prem Kumar. Group Commander of Dibrugarh NCC, Brigediar S K Lama inspected the camp on May 3. Batallion of Battle of Lougewala 23 Punjab Regiment demonstrated arms display while Doomdooma Traffic Police gave training on traffic control, Doomdooma Fire Brigade team imparted knowledge on fire control and Dr Niharika Phukan of Doomdooma 30 bedded FRU spoke about health awareness. Besides these, the participants had to undergo practical training on drill, WT, map reading, yoga, firing, self-defence and various types of games.
